Auditing controls

When most people think of audits they think of financial audits or tax audits.

An audits also looks at ‘internal control systems’ as well as the finances. The internal control systems are usually established through the specific design of computer systems. This includes separating (segregating) functions and ensuring that the authorisation of transactions is controlled according to clear rules and policies.

Knowing these control systems are sufficiently strong and are working properly is also very reassuring. to management and all stakeholders. This is what an audit does.
